story telling and truth telling

I love stories . In fact when I was 22, I decided that I did not have enough stories to tell so I decided to travel so that I could increase my repertoire of stories. I ended up traveling throughout North America, Central America and Europe for about three and 1/2 years. I had stories about all kinds of situations containing people and animals, safe and dangerous events, and  happy and sad times  .I told the stories to my family, friends, clients and whomever else would listen. Sometimes, I would tell the same story over and over again .  I was so happy to have these stories to tell but now I realize that the most important  and hardest story  to speak about is what is actually going on right now.
 It certainly is the most compelling story and spurs us to take action. I guess that it is easier to reach into our memory banks of stories rather than reach into the current moment.   I am not actually sure if this  blog post isn't a story as well.
